That time of year is fast approaching where the boyfriends and husbands try to be romantic and shower their partner in affection, gifts and surprises. This year the day to celebrate love, apparently, falls on a Monday which is not the best night of the week to celebrate anything.
However if you are hoping to spend this day together and make it one to remember there are a number of things going on in the city of Dublin.
Take a trip to St Valentine’s Shrine, Whitefriar Street, Dublin which is popular amongst a lot of couples. As you may have guessed, it is especially popular on Valentine’s Day where they have a special "blessing of the rings" ceremony for couples intended to marry. The church itself is house to the remains of St Valentine in a reliquary which is placed on the alter each Valentine’s Day.
You could also enjoy an open-top bus trip around the city showing of Dublin’s amazing architecture and buildings. This is one of the best ways to see the city as you will be taken around the most popular sites and landmarks. The weather is not always guaranteed so be sure to dress for the occasion.
You could also stroll around the city centre and enjoy the simpler approach, take a walk along St. Stephens Green or indulge in some retail therapy along Grafton Street. As you walk along you will notice a number of fine restaurants to spend your evening, they will all have their own special valentines offers, just be wary that restaurants book out fast so there is no harm in making you mind up and booking early.
If you are still not sure what you should do in Dublin on February 14 th (just a reminder) and you can’t think of any
ideas for valentines then let the Doyle Collection take care of it for you. In one of their
luxury hotels in Dublin you can avail of the Cupids Corner package which includes champagne, chocolates, deluxe room, 4 course meal and much more.
